American Helicopter Museum
One of the most underrated kid destinations in Chester County. Over 35 helicopters, and several that kids can actually climb into and sit in the cockpit — which is the part they'll talk about for weeks. The collection spans military, rescue, and experimental aircraft. Adults who aren't plane people will still enjoy it. Toddlers who love vehicles will lose their minds.

The American Helicopter Museum sits about two miles from downtown West Chester and holds one of the largest rotorcraft collections in the world. What makes it work for kids isn't just the quantity of aircraft — it's that several of them are accessible. Kids can climb in, sit in cockpits, and get a genuine sense of scale that a display-only museum can't provide. The collection runs from early experimental helicopters through military rescue craft and commercial aircraft. Indoor, stroller-friendly, and genuinely educational. Admission is $15 adults, $14 children 2–12, under 2 free.
