Know before you go

There are two distinct playground areas: the main one, closest to parking and the restroom building, has separate toddler and big-kid play structures plus the most shade; a second, smaller one across the entrance road near the basketball courts skews toward bigger kids and doesn't have toddler equipment. A splash pad is part of a planned $7.2 million "WaterWorks" renovation at the old waterworks complex, but as of publication it's still in the fundraising and planning stage — it is not open yet. Three miles of paved and dirt trails loop around two ponds, and there's a free 18-hole disc golf course if older kids or parents want something else to do.
