East Caln Park at Bell Tavern
A genuinely loaded township park just east of Downingtown — playground, swings, a sandbox, and a motion-activated sprinkler pad that runs Memorial Day through Labor Day. Add tennis, pickleball, basketball, and a paved walking loop and there's something for every age. The sprinkler pad isn't guaranteed to be running (the township warns it can go down), so don't plan a trip around it alone.

Know before you go
The sprinkler pad runs roughly 11am–5pm daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but it's motion-activated and the township explicitly notes it can go down without warning — don't build a whole outing around it. Restrooms are open in spring, summer, and early fall only. Besides the playground and sandbox, the park has a 0.45-mile paved loop that's good for stroller laps, plus tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and a hockey rink if older siblings need something else to do.
