Handel's Homemade Ice Cream (Berwyn)
100+ rotating flavors and scoops that are almost comically large. Walk-up format, outdoor seating, and a selection that actually makes adults deliberate. The classic ice cream errand that works as a standalone destination or the obvious coda to a day at Highland Orchards, a trail walk, or pretty much anything.

Handel's is a small regional chain that's been making ice cream in Ohio since 1945 and has expanded across the mid-Atlantic. The Berwyn location on Lancaster Avenue is a classic walk-up — you stand in line, make a very difficult decision from the flavor board, and walk away with something substantial. The scoops are large, the flavors rotate, and the prices are reasonable. A dependable end-of-day destination.
